Manchester United can record back-to-back wins in the Premier League when playing West Ham on Sunday.
United won 4-3 against Wolves in midweek thanks to a goal from Kobbie Mainoo in the dying moments after the game, which came immediately after the hosts had equalised at Molineux Stadium. Erik ten Hag’s side delivered their best first-half performance of the season and Marcus Rashford scored on his return to the side. Rasmus Hojlund and Scott McTominay also got on the scoresheet.
United will now take on West Ham this weekend and they have a point to prove after losing to the Irons before Christmas.
Regarding the team news, Sofyan Amrabat and Victor Lindelof are set to return to the squad and Lisandro Martinez should be available after being substituted against Wolves as a precaution.
So here’s how our writers think United should line up…
Tyrone Marshall
For once it feels like a simple selection for Ten Hag and he must surely go with an unchanged side from the team that won at Wolves. It wasn’t faultless, but in many ways it was the best performance of the season.
Ten Hag had said he expected improvements with players back fit and so it proved. Martinez is a key man in defence once again and the balance is so much better with Varane alongside him and two natural full-backs in Dalot and Shaw.
Casemiro has now seen yellow in five of his last six games but he was much improved against Wolves and the midfield with Mainoo and Fernandes alongside him works nicely. In attack, Hojlund needs to start every game now and there is promise in a front three that has Garnacho and Rashford alongside him.
Rich Fay
It won’t be a concern if United name an unchanged side against West Ham today, though it wouldn’t be a concern if they make a change in defence either.
Martinez was the one replaced in midweek as a precaution, but it is Varane who might benefit from a rest as United look to carefully manage his fitness for the remainder of the season. Maguire, a former West Ham target, would be a wise selection.
There is still concern over how stretched United’s midfield has been in recent weeks, but there doesn’t seem to be a solution to it right now. The front three all deserve to keep their place, and Amad should be ahead of Antony on the bench.

We’re aware it’s boring when each of us picks the same team, but I’d be surprised if anyone makes changes from the starting side that delivered an excellent first-half performance against Wolves.
United were dominant and they should have been out of sight by half-time at Molineux. They must be more ruthless in front of goal and they can enjoy a strong end to the season if they achieve that.
Mainoo is one of the first names on the team sheet now and that’s the ultimate compliment to the 18-year-old, while all seemed forgiven with Rashford after he scored in midweek.
