Manchester United are leading the pursuit of Juventus defender Gleison Bremer ahead of the summer transfer window, according to Calciomercato.
The Brazilian has been one of the best performing centre-backs in Serie A and he recently signed a new long-term contract with the Bianconeri until June 2028.
Despite this, it is claimed that no player is ‘untransferable’ at the Turin outfit and Bremer could head for the exit door this summer for the right offer on the table.
United are reportedly ‘above all’ in the race for the former Torino man. It is claimed that Juventus will want at least €70m excluding bonuses to part ways with him.
Bremer would suit Man Utd with his strong defensive attributes
The 26-year-old has been pivotal to the Bianconeri’s impressive Serie A campaign this term. He has had a passing accuracy of 87 per cent with almost four long balls per appearance.
In the defensive scheme of things, Bremer has made 4.2 clearances on average alongside 1.5 tackles and 1.2 interceptions. He has made five ball recoveries and won 5.1 duels per game.
Bremer has also impressed with his strong physical presence in the box. Erik ten Hag is eyeing a powerful defender with good ball playing attributes, and Bremer would be an ideal fit.
The big question mark is whether United will meet the demands of the Bianconeri. The new management under Sir Jim Ratcliffe feel that the club have overpaid for players in the past.
€70m is a huge outlay to sign any player. The club may assess their centre-back targets on the list before considering whether to make a formal approach for the experienced ace from Bahia.
