Brentford boss Thomas Frank believes that Manchester United ace Christian Eriksen is possibly the best signing of his career to date.
Few players in the United squad have had to battle quite like Christian Eriksen in recent years.
The Dane suffered a cardiac arrest in the summer of 2021 and was then forced to leave Inter Milan due to Serie A rules surrounding his ICD device.
Eriksen can’t have possibly imagined signing for United just a year after cardiac arrest but that’s exactly what happened.
The former Tottenham Hotspur ace was only able to make that move after getting his career back on track with Brentford, paving the way for United to pounce.

The key man behind the move to Brentford was boss Thomas Frank as he tempted his fellow Dane to West London.
Eriksen bagged one goal and four assists under Frank before making the decision to leave for United on a free transfer.
Frank has now been asked about his career to date and told Sky Sports that Eriksen is ‘obviously’ the biggest signing he has ever made.
Frank added that Eriksen is probably the best player to ever feature for Brentford and also named the United playmaker as the most technically-gifted player he has coached.
Eriksen was given a chance in the Denmark Under-17’s by Frank and his ‘unbelievable’ technique was clear even then as Frank branded him a ‘unique’ player.
“I think the biggest at the time was Eriksen, obviously,” said Frank. “For me, the best player of all-time to have played for Brentford.”
“I think that must be Christian Eriksen. Eriksen was unique, 16 years old and I played him in the Under-17 national team. I remember, a little bit on the half-turn, a diagonal on the right foot, it was like… okay, then five minutes later, half-turn, left-foot, boom, left foot, on a string – both feet, unbelievable technique,” he added.
Eriksen can still make impact for United
Eriksen turns 32 today and he is currently stuck on the bench for United.
Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro are forming a promising midfield partnership and Eriksen has to remain patient as he waits for a chance.
Eriksen may not be the player he once was, but his quality and composure on the ball remains outstanding and he can certainly make an impact moving forward.
United head to face Bretnford at the end of March and Eriksen would no doubt love to claim a win against his former club – especially having lost heavily there last season.
Frank even recently suggested that Eriksen would be welcome back at Brentford one day, but he will just be focusing on getting back into the United team right now.
