Manchester United must reinforce their DM position for the future and Sporting play breaker, Morten Hjulmand, is on the radar at Old Trafford.

As per a recent story covered by Record, Man Utd have initiated formal talks to sign the Danish international, who has a release clause of £68million in his contract.

The Red Devils have been made aware that they will only be able to sign the 24-year-old holding midfielder by paying £68million.

Record claim the Lions want Hjulmand to stay for the foreseeable future and are even planning to hand him the captain’s armband.

The renowned Portuguese source state that with Neto close to the end of the career, Coates’ future uncertain and Inacio coveted by top clubs in Europe, Hjulmand will be placed by Amorim on the list of captains for the next season.

At Old Trafford, Casemiro is the chief play breaker but the Brazilian international is past his prime.

Moreover, reports this month (The Daily Star) have indicated that Man Utd are ready to secure a pay-off agreement to offload the former Real Madrid midfielder.

Amrabat, who is currently at the AFCON, has not been able to put in consistent performances since joining the club on loan from Fiorentina in the summer.

Therefore, signing a quality defensive midfielder is a must and Hjulmand, who is the main play breaker for the Liga Nos leaders, would be a top addition.
