It might surprise Arsenal fans to hear that Manchester City’s Phil Foden has now been discussing a player the club reportedly want to buy.
Mikel Arteta’s side are in a much better position after three straight league wins after their warm training camp in Dubai.
The seismic victory over Liverpool was the highlight, the definition of a ‘six-pointer’, if there ever was one.
And with Arsenal fans now feeling as if their side are back in the title race, one or two may have had an eye on Manchester City’s trip to Brentford last night.
As Arsenal found out last season, City do like to turn on the style around this time of year.
And with Erling Haaland not quite fully fit and firing yet, Phil Foden decided he would be happy to secure the three points.
It was an ominous display from both an Arsenal and Liverpool perspective, City are already in their title-winning stride.
And despite the confident win, Foden was still very impressed with one of Brentford’s forwards.
It’s fair to say Ivan Toney’s name is quite familiar with Arsenal fans by this point, and Foden was full of compliments for the striker.

He said: “We know the quality they have. Toney is one of the best in winning aerial duels, we knew the threat he would have.
“They are a fantastic team and we had to react and we did that well and I’m delighted with the outcome of the game.”
Of course, with every good performance that goes by, it certainly doesn’t seem as if links to Arsenal will lessen.
Kai Havertz did a fantastic job against Liverpool on Sunday, but would still be complimented by the arrival of a player like £60m-rated Toney.
Arsenal fans will certainly appreciate that Phil Foden knows a strong player when he sees one, and they will surely be itching for him to face the City player in an Arsenal shirt next season.
